Hi Gail, did you ever think about how many ‘closets’ we actually have in our homes? Technically, a closet is anything where you can store items out of view of a visitor’s eyes! So you have bedroom closets, linen closets, kitchen pantry ‘closets’, coat closets, but take it even further… Kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, entertainment centers, armoires, chests, dressers, hutches, enclosed bookcases, storage ottomans, night stands w/enclosed storage underneath, cabinets above your washer and dryer. In the garage, you can have enclosed cabinets or built-in closets for storing sports equipment, paint, tools… That’s why ‘closets’ here on my site actually covers all types of storage areas in all areas of our home.
