Closet Organization Ideas for Kids Closets
Posted by organizer girl in Children's Closet Organizing, tags: kid's closet organizing, tips to organize child's closetGetting organized is a task that seems to be on everyone’s mind especially during the springtime weather; perhaps that’s why they call it spring-cleaning. One of the main rooms that seem to need organization is that of children, more importantly their closets. It is the first place that they will toss their items when told to clean up their rooms. Teaching them at a young age about organization will ease some stress for both the parent and the child.
The best thing to do is to transform their closets into an area that they can reach items. Place hooks at their level and they will be able to hang their jackets or towels on them. Using plastic storage bins will also help with the tiny toys that seem to accumulate in a child’s room. Labeling them with names or pictures will teach the child where each item should be placed. For items that should be kept out of place or reach, install shelves above the hanging rods and place the container out of reach.
Baskets and storage containers are great for kid’s closets because they can simply throw toys into them without the need of organizing. These work great for younger children who don’t quite understand where certain items should go. The most important thing to remember is that in order to maintain your kid’s closet organized you may need to go in their rooms everyday and show them where each item belongs. Shoe racks and hanging shelves that can hang from the clothes rod are great ways to organize items as well.

Whatever method you choose, being consistent is the key to keeping a child’s closet organized. They will not understand it right away but when they are able to locate items quickly because they are placed in the proper place and when they can hang their own clothes they will have that sense of accomplishment, which will lead to more. An organized child’s closet can lead to an organized teen’s closet or one can hope. Instilling the values of organization at an early age will definitely create a less cluttered room and life in the end.
